Questions and
Answer
Let’s review frequently asked interview questions
and sample answers, and tailor your answers based on your experience, skills,
and interests. Remember, it's less about giving the "right" answer
and more about proving you're the best person for the job.
a)
Tell me about
yourself.
This is one of the first questions you will be
asked. Be prepared to talk about yourself and why you are a good candidate for
the position. The interviewer wants to know why you are a great candidate for
the job.
Try to answer questions about yourself without
giving too much or too little information about yourself. You can start by
sharing some of your personal interests and experiences that aren't directly
related to work, such as your favorite hobbies or a short story of where you
grew up, your background, and what motivates you.
b)
Why do you want
this job?
Why are you a good fit for the position? What would
you accomplish if you were hired? These interview questions allow you to
show the interviewer what you know about the situation in the company, so take
the time to thoroughly research the company, its products, services, culture
and operations. Decide what makes you a good candidate for this position and
mention the part of the company and the position that interests you the most.
c)
Why are you the
best person for the job?
Make your response confident, concise, and
market-focused that explains what you have to offer and why you should get the
job. This is a good time to review the qualifications and requirements in the
job listing, so you can craft an answer that matches what the interviewer is
looking for.
d)
What is your
greatest strength?
When you are asked about your greatest strengths, it
is important to discuss the qualities that make you qualified for this
particular position and that will set you apart from other applicants.
When answering
this question, remember to "show" rather than "tell". For
example, instead of saying that you are a good problem solver, tell a story
that proves it, based on anecdotes from your professional experience.
e)
What are your
salary expectations?
This one is a tricky question. You don't want to
sell yourself short or turn down a job offer. In some places, employers are
prohibited by law from asking you about your salary history, but they can ask
you how much you expect to be paid. Do your research before the meeting so
you're prepared to call a salary (or salary) if you're asked. There are many
free online salary calculators that can give you a reasonable range based on
your job title, employer, experience, skills and location.
